CFGL SEASON V RULES

PRESEASON RULES

Before the season starts, members predict conference champions of every conference and a National Champion. Correct conference picks are worth 5 pts each and a correct National Champion is worth 10 pts. These points are added at the end of the season.

Members must also select a Power Conference to be bet on a weekly basis. These games are worth 10 instead of 7 points. You will bet one Power Game a week. You may use Independents as a conference.

BASIC RULES

Each member picks a max of 5 regular games a week and a bonus game. Your one weekly power game is worth 10 pts. Each regular game is worth 7 points, each bonus game is dependant upon your bet. (See Dog Game below)

All games will use the official CFGL lines released on Monday morning. You can pick the spread or the over/under. Late spreads will be updated as they become available. The spreads won’t change throughout the week. All picks to be submitted by 5 p.m. (MT) Friday. If you are picking a game earlier in the week (M,T,W, Th), all picks are due before that game’s kickoff. All picks are due at once. No multiple calls/emails.

WAYS TO PICK

*Straight up is picking a game using the spread or over/under. If LSU is -3, they must win by more than 3 for you to win the game. If the over/under is 42, you bet either over or under 42- the total points scored in the game.

*Stacking games is the option of putting more points on a single game. If you love a game you can make it worth 2, 3, 4 or all 5 of your weekly games. A 3 stack is worth 21 points (3 games x7 points) etc.

*Parlay your picks for more points. For a chance to win more points parlay your games. To parlay, group games together for bonus points. You can group games in 2,3,4, or 5. Every team in the parlay group must win to get points otherwise you lose the entire group. Here are the extra points awarded for parlays:

Odds on parlay-
2 team- extra 5 pts
3 team- extra 20 pts
4 team- extra 30 pts
5 team- extra 50 pts

*Pick the money line on underdogs to earn more points. If you like an underdog to win straight up, pick the money line and you win the points of the spread. However, if you lose a money line game you lose the points of the spread. So, if you pick the Irish money line on a +5 game, you either win an extra 5 points on top of your game (12 total pts), or you lose 5 points (-5).

GAMES TO PICK EACH WEEK

*POWER CONFERENCE GAMES
Before the season starts, each member will pick a Power Conference. Every week you must pick at least one game from your Power Conference. This game will be worth 10 pts each week instead of the regular 7 pts.

Power Weeks will be chosen once a season. This means once a season you pick all 5 games from your Power Conference. All 5 games will be worth 10 pts per game instead of 7. Power Weeks must consist of 5 different spreads and they can’t be stacked, parlayed or money lined.

*BINDING CONFERENCE GAMES (7 Pts)
Most weeks, members will have to pick a Binding Game to ensure everyone picks from every conference throughout the season. So one week will be Big East week, then Mountain West week, etc. If you fail to pick the Binding Conference game, you will be penalized a won game that week. If you are using your Power Week during a Binding Conference Game you have to pick the Binding Conference the following week.

THE DOG GAME
Instead of betting a Top 25 game this year you will bet an underdog for the points they give up. If you take the Irish +5, you get 5 points if the Irish win. If they don’t win, you don’t get points but you don’t lose points either. This game is separate from your other 5 weekly game. It’s purely bonus, so no stacking or parlaying. (Basically a money line game without a penalty)

CFGL CONFERENCES
This year the CFGL will be broken up into conferences. We only have 32 spots available so not everyone will get in. The conferences will be chosen at random. There will be 4 conferences of 8 members each. As soon as you have your money in, your place is reserved.

THE FINAL WEEK
Due to a small amount of games on the last week of the season, we will rank all the games with lines. So, if there are 10 games, you pick every game and then rank them 1 through 10. Your 10 game is worth 10 points, your 1 game is worth 1 point.
