With Four games remaining...(update 6)
1.) Highest Possible, 2.) Highest % correct 3.) Total Points
Ladies and Gentlemen-
We had quite a Friday/Saturday with a total of 10 games up for grabs. There are plenty of storylines but the biggest one is that the League Bowl Championship will go down to the final game this year. We had lots of movement in the past two days, with some players picking their way into the top 10 and others falling hard in their biggest games.
The scores are reported three different ways to show how close this all actually is.
If a competitor's name is highlighted in red, they have been mathematically eliminated from winning the competition.
Headlines:
Good Ol' Wigs (GOW) hits for 71% of his points over the past two days and takes a microscopic lead over Primetime
Wiggles has a two point lead (307-305) over Prime, who has spent most of the bowl season near the top. Ironically, Prime needs a key win for Boise on Monday night while hoping that games goes under. His best shot is rooting against all of GOW's picks even those that are the same as his...
Mamacita hits an amazing 92% of her points on Saturday and finishes the weekend in third place
An amazing 79% total weekend has left Mama hoping for for an over game in the CMU/Troy game so that GOW cannot convert that game. She has less points left than the leaders, but if the games fall right, she can take home the crown.
Dee's Pimpin and Bizzem use almost flawless New Year's Day to push into the top 5
New Year's Day belonged to the Bynum Brothers as Bizzem went five for five including a moneyline to cure their hangover. Pimpin' only missed Oregon for 14 and went above 88% for the day. These two have been consistent throughout the bowl season and after taking second and third in the regular season, they have been monsters in the bowls. Their biggest advantage down the stretch may be a non-Texas pick in the NC game.
Easy Money goes 8 for 10 this weekend to make a push towards the end
A strategic Boise pick in the Fiesta is what has him vying for the title. A Boise win may give him enough juice to win it all.
Hammes and Benchmark combine for a meager 24% conversion on Saturday as the door begins to close on their runs
Both have had a great bowl season, only to give so much away in one day. After a solid New Year's Day, both may end up on the outside looking in due to their Saturday implosion. Hammes' Iowa pick may be all he has to hope for in getting back in, and Meegs' Bama pick may be his last hope as well.
iBlink, CMButts, Coach, Maquina, Head Detective, Oven, Blue, Honk, Hackerman, KState34, Hollywood, Butterstoch, Mile High, and Chief are eliminated mathematically this weekend
The League is a gauntlet. Only one can be crowned, and now all of those listed truly have no reason to watch the GT/Iowa game or the CMU/Troy game. Is there really a good reason to watch outside of the League anyway?
Happy New Year to all. The League will consider sending an update after the Fiesta on Monday. Depends on how many commercials Fox decides to run that night. Sleep tight boys and girls.
