12.29 Scoreboard

League-

We are now eleven games into the bowl season and are eagerly anticipating the remaining 24 games on the schedule. Though some of the matchups have been tough to call, there are certainly emerging stories on the scoreboard.

The biggest story of the first 11 games is the complete domination of picks by Scaga. Scaga is showing us the monster in his pants with an unbelievable and unprecedented conversion rate on his picks thus far. Scaga has scored 187 of 205 (over 91%) risked points and is threatening to run away with the bowl season title. As a past winner Scaga has demonstrated the ability to prognosticate with the best of them in this format, but this season he is in line to pull off one of the greatest feats in league and gambling history. Never has a competitor had such a high correct percentage this deep into the contest. A few things to note about this historic run:

  • If Scaga continues to score at this rate, he would end up with 573 points and would break the all-time bowl season record for points by almost 200 points.

  • The highest bowl season % correct was set by The First Lady in 2006 when she converted over 65% of her points. In order to break that mark, Scaga would have to convert just 51% of his remaining points (222). This would also make him the first player ever to score more than 400 points.

  • Second place Aunt Betty's Fried Chicken has scored a phenomenal 78.4% of his points and if the conversion rates stayed the same, Scaga would still win the season by a whopping 82 points.

The League is in hopes that simply hyping up this 11 game run will jinx Scaga for the remainder of the games and his fall from the top will be historic as well.

The Scoreboard shows us other great stories such as AB's Fried Chicken and La Maquina showing an incredible start that has threatened to make this a three piece meal, or three man race for the top spot. The Oven continues a quiet run as she remains in the top 3 of highest possible totals. She has converted a modest 60% of her points and still has the most points remaining. In fact, all three ladies of the League have saved their high point games for late in the season and that makes them all very dangerous.

On the other end of the scoring spectrum, we find the regular season champion Primetime struggling at less than 30% correct. His amazing regular season run was full of parlay bonuses and that has not translated to wins in the post season. At the bottom with Primetime is rookie competitor and top 5 finisher, Carolina Fire Ants. His conversion rate is just 33% and he is having some obvious trouble picking winners as he is just 3 for the first 11 picks.

As amazing a story as Scaga's first 11 games are, it may not be as phenomenal as the streak being put together by Team Ramrod. Ramrod has converted12 of 134 points for a despicable 9% conversion. A division winner in the regular season, Ramrod has absolutely shit the bed through the first 11 games. He has won three single-digit games and lost his 33 and 31 point game. If he continues to score at 9%, he would finish the bowl season at around 57 points. Scaga scored 62 with his first four picks. At this success rate, he will pick 9 games correctly out of 35. Ouch.

There are three games today, four tomorrow, four on Friday, and New Year's Day has six for us.
From here on out, you will receive a daily update with scoreboard with the exception of January 2nd, which has no bowl games.

Enjoy the football that remains today.

Thank you Deeds and Commish for the wonderful comment about the "monster in my pants". Also, thanks for the wonderful jinx. My time at the top has been wonderful. I suggest now placing real money wagers opposite of what I have picked for the remainder of the week. Don't underestimate the jinx!!
