Witnessing History; 12/29 AM Update

Friday night games hit the CFGL hard with lots of losses across the board.
  • 19 players went 0 for 3 in yesterday's picks
  • 500 points were lost on ULM
  • 572 points were lost when VT covered against Rutgers
  • 559 points were lost in the nightcap when Minnesota covered the large spread
  • #want, Boss Bizzem, Turd Ferguson, and The Guy Behind the Guy were the only four players to win all three games yesterday
Saturday Games:
More and more points are being risked as we get closer to the halfway point of the bowl season. The Valero Alamo Bowl between Texas and Oregon State will mark game #18 and the official middle game of the bowls.  There are five games today, which is the second biggest day of bowl games (January 1st has six).
  • West Virginia is the biggest pick of the day with 921 points risked on the Mountaineers over the 'Cuse; WVU is the fifth biggest bet of the bowl season this year
  • 627 on AFA this morning to win straight up against Rice
  • Oregon State is the popular pick this evening with 564 points on the Beavers
  • 403 points on TCU in the night game against MSU
  • Navy is the most popular pick in the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl with 299 points to cover 14.5

Witnessing History:
There is a far more spectacular story than last night's poor performances and the number of points being risked on the games today.  CFGL Season Nine-Bowl Season could be looking at the greatest run of picks in our history, by a very unlikely rookie.  The Guy Behind the Guy (formerly Mr. Lou) is currently taking center stage in his first bowl season.  Yesterday, TGBTG won his ninth, tenth, and eleventh games in a row.  Historically speaking, the CFGL has never seen eleven straight wins in the Bowl Season and he is on pace to set the all-time record for points in a bowl season.

Some perspective on this amazing accomplishment:
  • The Guy Behind the Guy currently sits in second place, yet he has risked 167 fewer points than the man he trails, Flute with No Holes; he has risked only 60% of what our leader has
  • His eleven game winning streak includes moneyline wins on Central Michigan, Baylor, and Ohio
  • Overall, he has predicted 85.7% of his games correctly, losing only two of the first 15 games
  • He has converted 94.3% of his points, a rate over 20 percentage points higher than the next best
  • No rookie has ever strung together more than six straight correct bowl picks
Typically, the Bowl Season goes down to the last game, last year TP3 won by just 15 points.  If The Guy Behind the Guy continues this dominance, this Bowl Season could be over by New Year's Day.  The trophy is not engraved yet, however, it is clear that nobody can touch this rookie's performance and that he will likely go down as the greatest picker in bowl history.
All of this barring a giant collapse caused by a jinx post by the Commissioner's office...For the Good of The League, of course.
Enjoy the games today.  Next update on Monday.

that was a pretty powerful jinx. I went 1 for 5 yesterday. I should be easier to catch now...for the good of the league.
