New Year's Eve Update

League-

Good morning to you all. Please excuse the delay on the posting today.

Yesterday was an up and down day for many in the league as close finishes and suprise endings characterized the day. There were some big swings during the day that were incredibly impactful on the scoring of the League. If the next couple of days hold the same drama as yesterday, we are in for a great finish. Here are some of the highlights:

  • Last nights Nebraska game became the lowest scoring game in the history of the CFGL. 88 of 798 points were converted, an 11.2% rate. When the whole League loses a game like this it has less impact, but it hits individuals hard. 13 people had more than 30 points on the game, including, Wilson, WinMonster, Holy Trinity, and $ituation who were all in the middle of a solid run. Only Seminole 26, Hammes, The Oven, and iBlink were able to convert points on Washington.

  • The UNC/Tennessee game had wild swing at the finish and had a giant impact on the League. Flute with no Holes, Pigskin Whisperer, and Head Detective, recieved a gift win when time was added to the clock so that UNC could put a field goal on the board on the last play of the game.

  • Kansas State was penalized on what would have been the game tying two point conversion and that cost Dee's Pimpin', Hammes and Bizzem a HUGE day. Shaman got his only win of the day courtesy of the controversial call as he struggles to put together any momentum this bowl season.

  • Army upset SMU and Pigskin Whisps and Vandelay were the only two to call that one. The Whisperer converted the moneyline and has won a total of 20 points on moneylines this season.

The day yesterday absolutely hammered a number of folks. Prestige Worldwide was crushed by an 0-4 day that totaled 62 points. Dr. Green Thumb and Aunt Betty both were brought back to earth without a win and big point losses on the day.

An emerging storyline of the League is the futility of Hack Attack and Ramrod. Not only did each of them net zero points yesterday, but they have combined to score just 94 of 513 points this bowl season. Ramrod lost his 34, 32, and 23 yesterday as he fell to just a 16% conversion rate and now threatens the all time lowest conversion in League Bowl Season. Hack Attack has outscored Ramrod by 6 points and has lost six of his last seven picks.

As we start the New Year's Eve games start, La Maquina has a strong lead over Chief, Aunt Betty and Mile High. It is Cinderella Story who is lurking in second highest % correct and has more potential points than our leader. Coach, Mamacita, and The Oven still have the most points remaining so they continue to be a threat.

Enjoy the games and look for an early update on tomorrow.
