Bowl Season Final Standings

After Further Review...Mamacita is the Bowl Champion

A thrilling National Championship Game between Auburn and Oregon left nobody disappointed. That is, nobody except Aunt Betty's Fried Chicken who watched a breakaway last second League winning touchdown call be overturned by an instant replay review.
Entering the night, Aunt Betty held a 29 point lead over Mamacita and put his faith in Auburn to cover the 3.5 point spread. Mamacita needed an Oregon cover to convert her 35 point game and end up the Bowl Season champion.

As Auburn drove down the field in a tie game it looked as though they were looking to set up for a field goal and the 3 point win. With 18 seconds to play, freshmen running back, Michael Dyer broke through the Oregon defense and appeared to score a touchdown. Aunt Betty's Fried Chicken had been given the ultimate blessing with a "cheapie" to clinch the bowl season title. The play was reviewed however, and just as easily as the win was given, it was taken away.
The drama didn't end there. Instead of running the kicker on to the field, Auburn decided to put the Heisman Winner, Cam Newton back into the game for one more play from well inside the 1 yard line. Aunt Betty still had a chance and Mamacita sat at the edge of her seat, praying for the Ducks to make a stand.
In the end, Auburn sat on the ball and set up the game winning field goal. In the real world this constituted a championship for Auburn and all of those rooting for them. In the League, it was Oregon staying within 3.5 that gave Mamacita her first Bowl Season Championship.

After an incredible regular season that came down to picks in the Championship Week and a 5.5 point win for Primetime, Mamacita wins her final Bowl game and takes the postseason title by a total of six points. Aunt Betty finished second, Cinderella Story closed in third, and the $ituation completes his best season ever with a top 5 finish in the bowl season and 2nd place in the regular season. $ituation was the only competitor that had success in both chapters of season 7. Primetime, Prestige Worldwide, Carolina Fire Ants, Mile High, and WinMonster 5K went from top 6 in the regular season to not finishing in the top 15 come bowl season.
Primetime got the worst of it as the regular season champion scored just 220 points and converted just 35% of his points during the bowl season. Only iBlink was worse as he converted just over 33% of his points.

But the Bowl Season belonged to the new Queen of the League, Mamacita. She proved the value of patience and showed that champions can be made by spending 33 years reading Sue Grafton novels while your husband, sons, and their friends talk about sports.
Mamacita used a stretch of eight games from the Champs Sports Bowl to the Music City Bowl in which she won 95 of 108 points and hit over 80% of her points on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day to make herself a real contender. After losing Kentucky and Nevada, her 33 and 34 point game, she won her final game, worth 35 points to push past ABFC. Overall she converted 67.3% of her points and finished with the highest score in bowl season history.

And with that, Season Seven of the CFGL comes to an end. It truly was the best season yet and we look forward to doing it again next year. The Commish and Deeds would like to thank all of the veteran players that have been with us for multiple years and continue to bring new people into the fold. We are also grateful for the rookies; Carolina Fire Ants, Team Ramrod, Aunt Betty's Fried Chicken, Skinny Dip, and Flute w/no Holes.
The highlight of our year is having the honor to run the League and enjoy the games with all of you. We wish you the best in the off-season and hope that each and every one of you is back for Season Eight and that you tell others who would be interested in participating.
We will talk with you all in July.

For the Good of the League-
Commish and Deeds
