Pre-Fiesta Full Update

Ladies and Gentlemen of The League-
Good evening, the Commissioner's Office sends our best and hope that all of you enjoyed the ass-whooping that was the Sugar Bowl.  For the Good of The League, Deeds attended the game and saw first hand one of the most surprising and important games of the bowl season.  As reported yesterday, the Sugar Bowl had a very balanced betting ratio and so it turned into a HUGE swing game.
Though we don't have a new leader, the Top Ten was shuffled significantly with last night's results.
  • All current players in the top ten won points last night with the exception of #1 Juice and #10 BullRob.  With the loss, BullRob drops from #3 to #10, where he currently sits.
  • Air Raid got a win, but only risked 6 points and drops from #6 to #12
  • Nittany Lyin jumped up one spot from 3rd to 2nd but closed the gap by 25 points on our leader.
  • The Guy Behind the Guy falls behind seven guys as his 18 point risk moves him down to #8 from his perch at #5.
  • WelchTwins gets another win, but a 21 point risk only moves him up one spot to #6.  That is because Brothers Bynum, Dee's Pimpin' and Boss Bizzem hit for 34 and 27 respectively.  They move into #4 and 5 and threaten to take the crown again.
  • John Force moves up three spots from #10 to #7.
Each year the end of the Bowl Season is close, but this year harkens veterans back to Mamacita's 1/2 point win two years ago when Auburn had a TD overturned with under :10 to go to avoid covering, preserving the crown for the Commissioner's mother.
On a related note, tonight's game could actually push Mamacita back into the top 10 if KState can cover the 8.5.
As for other scenarios, the betting ratio among the top ten means that we have three possibilities for a leader at the end of the night.
  • Juice:  Risks 15 on Oregon, but only stays in first place if Oregon covers in an Under game.
  • Dee's Pimpin':  Dee moves from #5 to the top spot with an over game, regardless of the game's winner.
  • Hollywood Hussion:  In an amazing development, Hollywood Hussion takes the lead with a KState cover in an under game.  If the Cats cover in a higher-scoring affair, Hussion jumps to #3 and is clearly alive for a title run.
Other big movers could include:
  • John Force risks 32 on Oregon -8.5 and could move as high as 2nd place if Oregon covers in an under game.  With an over game he would move from #7 to #4.
  • Boss Bizzem risks 32 on Oregon and moves into the #2 spot behind his brother if the game goes over.  The bad news for the family is that an under game pushes them back to #7 and #10.  Tonight is a true swing game for these two.
  • Guy Behind the Guy only risks 15 points tonight, however, with lots of Oregon picks ahead of him, a KSU cover moves him up as many as 4 spots to #4.

Coming from outside the top 10:
  • Air Raid could move from #12 to as high as #5 if Oregon wins an OVER game this evening.
  • Keep your eye on Wilson as he moves from #11 to #6 with an Oregon cover and UNDER game
  • Hammes had one of the greatest regular season's in the CFGL's history at one point and has disappeared since that rookie campaign.  Tonight he reemerges in the top ten, moving to #9 with an UNDER game.
  • RipperRipski can erase the 28 and 29 point losses he suffered the last two nights with a KSU cover and 34 point win tonight.  This would move him from the #16 spot up to #8.
  • Another sneaky name to put on your "watch list" is the regular season winner, The Locksmith.  Though he cannot get into the top 10 tonight, he sits at #3 in best possible and can move up from #19 to #14.
  • Behind the Locksmith by 2.5 points on the Best Possible list, veteran iBlink, sits at #17, but could be #11 by the end of the night if Oregon covers in an over game.  A loss tonight, however, could move him down to #25.
Overall, tonight's game is the 3rd most valuable of the Bowl Season with an average of an even 25 points on the action.
Clearly the game will be of high-interest and will be a key game in crowning a champion.
