Week Eight Results
Ladies and Gentlemen-
Week Eight proves to be an important one as the regular season is now officially halfway over. With seven weeks to go we have a brand new leader…La Maquina.
For those of you who do not know your CFGL history, La Maquina has had the lead in the league at the half way point in four out of eight seasons. It is also true that he has never finished first during a regular or bowl season. For now he sits atop the standings using a “Perfecto” to accumulate a total of 71 points after his bonuses. He is another example of rags to riches by scoring 126.5 points in the last two weeks to take the top spot.
In other big moves, WinMonster 5000 scores a whopping 80 points with a five-stack, Power Week, moneyline pick against his archenemy BC Eagles. Does it get any better than that? He has announced that he will now retire from the League as there is nothing left for him to accomplish. He jumps from dead last to 25th.
iBlink also cashes in an incredible week by hitting a three-team parlay and a 61 point week after winning his division. He jumps from 18th into the top ten to finish the week 8th. Mile High finally rebounds with a strong 37 point week and cuts the lead in the West Atlantic to 15. Hack Attack and the Fire Ants have a strong showing finishing with 34 points and near the top of the standings.
In the category of futility, there were four “competitors” that scored zero for the week. Among them was last week’s leader, Prestige Worldwide. After riding the anti-Lobo to a league lead, his alma mater finally bit back by covering against SDSU. Oven, Flute w/no Holes, and Vandalay Industries go bankrupt with high risk gambles.
As for division battles…
- Carolina Fire Ants squeaks out a division win to take over the Big Canyon over Situation by 5 points
- La Maquina’s perfecto is enough to carry him to the top of the Midwest Shore, with Hack Attack hanging in there with another strong week…six points separate
- The NE Heights are still ruled by MR. KASEY JOHNSON as Hussion and Shaman split the division win with a mere 24
- The Southern Plateau continues to disappoint with their top player, Aunt Betty placing 13th overall and owns a four point lead over the whores
- West Atlantic’s skinny dip hits a 28 to lead the division by 15 over Mile High…will they be scared by the WinMonster down the stretch?
- After a rags to riches story, Prime time has struggled to hold on and drops another spot to 4th overall, but leads the West Valley thanks to Prestige Worldwide’s goose-egg. The West Valley is still the class of the League with four of the top eight in the standings.
Next week is a PAC-10 week, which should payoff for many who will get two Power Games…

SITUATION INCHES CLOSER TO LIFE RIVAL, PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE. IBLINK IS THIS WEEK'S INSPIRATIONAL STORY AS HE MOVES FROM #33 TO #18.

The average in Week 7 was just over 21.5 and 54% passed the MAC challenge with a win. IBLINK got the weekly League high with 41 points but still sits fifth in the WEST VALLEY. The conference continues to host the League leader as PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE battles out PRIMETIME for the top spot. Only one win separates them. But, the W Valley wasn't the only conference where the top spot changed.
The West Atlantic is taken over by SKINNY DIP, who posts a conference high 28 and goes from #13 to #11. While the jump might not seem like much… well, it is actually isn’t. The W Atlantic is in a pretty sad state and no need to waste anymore of your time hearing about it. Except for the fact that the cherry on top, or bottom in this case, is the Commissioner’s patented pick system, THE WINMASTER 5000, which been plagued by a nasty software bug. The venerable leader is now the bowels of the college football haven, at #38. He still hasn't pinpointed the problem.
Another conference lead changed in the Southern Plateau as AUNT BETTY’S FRIED CHICKEN takes the weekly bonus by only 2.5 points. Rival MORMON WHORES continues to battle them for conference glory. TEAM RAMROD is also still in the conversation, but his consistency has been lacking.
In the fourth and last conference to have a top spot change is SITUATION. He's now the best of the Big Canyon and only 14.5 points behind his estranged mentor, PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE. CAROLINA FIRE ANTS still sits in a good position at #5 and only 9 points behind SITUATION. PIGSKIN WHISPERER matches his brother, THE WINMASTER 5000, with a zero for the week. They were part of the NC ST bandwagon that caught on fire and killed 111 points. For the good of the League. .
Last years champion, THE SHAMAN (aka THE DRAGON) finally makes it move with a conference high 24. He’s fortunate to grab the points. MR KASEY is also fortunate that both THE OVEN and HOLLYWOOD HUSSION have cooled down as he increases his lead by 15.
LA MAQUINA continues his streak as he puts up 47.5. He moves up from #19 to #9 in one of the only big jumps in the standings this week. HACK ATTACK still leads the conference and sits at #3 in the League.
This next week is a MOUNTAIN WEST week, so many of you MW honks will have two ten-point games to play with. Let us know if you have any questions.
Week 8 lines with over/unders to be put out tomorrow.
Love,
The Commissioner

PRIMETIME PARLAYS 4-TEAMER FOR PERFECT WEEK 103 POINTER.

Week 6 was proof positive that even perennial losers can achieve the impossible. In just two weeks Primetime has gone from dead last to #1 in the League. The stunning comeback comes thanks to two straight 4-team parlays. This week, he goes 5 for 5, adding a perfect week 20 pt bonus to his 35 pt parlay bonus and 10 pt conference win bonus. The 103 point week is one of the highest scoring weeks in League history and puts him 4 points ahead of PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE who posted a modest 17 this week.
HACK ATTACK continues to float atop the Midwest Shore, but it was the HOLY TRINITY that walked on the conference water for the week to grab the bonus. The TRINITY’S 46 gives them perfect balance, as they’re now right in the middle of the standings at #18.
The NE Heights saw VANDALAY INDUSTRITES 4-stack moneyline against his beloved Wolverines. Archrival Little Brother wins him 49 and then an extra 10 for the division win. MR KASEY JOHNSON scores a 31 to move him in control of the NE Heights.
The typically flat SOUTHERN PLEATEAU peaked in Week 6 as all teams scored at least 21 points. But it was TEAM RAMROD’s Power Week 5-stack on Arkansas that secures him the conference bonus and lead over MORMON WHORES.
FLUTE WITH NO HOLES heads north in the West Atlantic with a conference best 44. But he didn’t get as lifted as MILE HIGH who now leads the division over SKINNY DIP by one point. In the Big Canyon, SITUATION takes the conference win for the second week in a row with his 31. The bonus bumps him up to #5 in the League and only one winner away from CAROLINA FIRE ANTS.
A big congratulations goes out to entire League as nobody was shut-out. Week 7 is MAC week.
Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Love,
The Commissioner

PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE GOES LEAGUEWIDE AND TAKES OVER CFGL PENTHOUSE. PRIMETIME HITS 4-TEAM PARLAY FOR 76 PT ANOMALY.

The Week 5 average was just over 22 pts as over 60% of the League had successful CUSA picks. Betting against the Lobos was the smart choice again, as over 250 points were won on anti-Lobo sentiment. PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE continued to fulfill his CFGL destiny as his stock went up 38 points which puts him at #1 in the League. But, it was a rare clearheaded performance from PRIMETIME that won the West Valley for the week with a 76, which includes 35 points from his successful 4-team parlay. He goes from the basement to #22 with his monster win. BIZZEM has a perfect week hangover and posts a zero, which takes him from the top to #5 and 29 points behind PRESTIGE in the conference.
Midwest Shore stud #2 HACK ATTACK sits only a Power Game behind PRESTIGE WORLDWIDE in the League as he follows last weeks 58 with a 34.5 performance. But, the conference bonus goes to a 50 point Power stack from LA MAQUINA who moves up 18 spots to #11. SCAGA flaunts his big picker again and posts a 38-point week that moves him from #5 to #3.
In the NE Heights, the gas is left on and THE OVEN explodes with a 38 point week. Her 10-point bonus puts her up five spots in the League at #6 as her worse-half HOLLYWOOD HUSSION hangs a 10 and rounds out a Top Ten separated by only 52 points. In the Big Canyon, SITUATION beats out BLUE for the conference glory and jumps up ten spots to #9. But #4 CAROLINA FIRE ANTS still holds strong to the conference lead by just under 4 winners.
AUNT BETTY’S FRIED CHICKEN rises slightly higher than FIRST LADY and RAMROD in the Southern Plateau to capture the conference bonus. AUNT BETTY’S 41 puts ‘em in a very dangerous position- right underneath the weird man two-some of MORMON WHORES. The West Atlantic was absolutely dreadful again as the conference averaged only one win per team. MILE HIGH wins the bonus with a mere 17 points and #8 SKINNY DIP drops trou to reveal a shrunken and disappointing 8 pump performance.
Week 6 is an INDEPENDENTS Week. So pick the ND, Navy or Army game. Let us know if you have any questions.
*PIck sheet- ties are in yellow (3 pts), wins in green, and losses in purple.
Love,
The Commissioner
